Goa Accident: 6 Killed as Car Plunges Into River

Six people were killed and one person was injured when a car plunged into a river in North Goa on Sunday night.

The accident took place around 9.30 pm when the victims were returning from a wedding in Bardez taluka. The car, a Toyota Innova, was being driven by one of the victims, who lost control of the vehicle and crashed through the railing of a bridge before plunging into the river.

The victims have been identified as the driver, 26-year-old Amit Naik, his wife, 24-year-old Deepti Naik, their two children, 2-year-old Aayush Naik and 4-year-old Ananya Naik, and two other passengers, 24-year-old Laxmi Naik and 26-year-old Rajesh Naik.

The injured passenger, 24-year-old Sachin Naik, was rushed to a nearby hospital where he is undergoing treatment for his injuries.

The bodies of the victims have been recovered from the river and sent for post-mortem examination. The police have registered a case of accidental death and are investigating the incident.
