A new teaser trailer has been released for Prophecy, an upcoming science fiction television series set in the Dune universe created by Frank Herbert.
The series is based in part on the 2012 novel Sisterhood of Dune written by Frank Herbert's son, Brian Herbert, and Kevin J. Anderson. It follows the Bene Gesserit, a powerful order of women who wield genetic manipulation and mystical abilities.
The teaser trailer offers a glimpse of the series' stunning visuals and introduces some of its main characters, including Camila Beeput as Mother Superior Gaius Helen Mohiam, Sarah Lam as Sister Anirul, Emily Watson as Valya Harkonnen, and Olivia Williams as Reverend Mother Tamayt.
In 2019, Sky and HBO struck a five-year deal giving the UK broadcaster the exclusive first rights to the series. Filming is now completed, and while there's no official word from HBO, a release date is expected soon.
Prophecy promises to be a thrilling and captivating addition to the Dune universe, expanding on the rich lore and characters that have captivated readers and viewers alike for decades.
