Columbus Crew Defeat Monterrey; Advance to Champions Cup Final

Crew on Verge of Historic Concacaf Title

Russell-Rowe's Goal Sends Columbus to Championship Game

Columbus, Ohio - The Columbus Crew are on the brink of making history. On Wednesday night, the Crew defeated Liga MX powerhouse CF Monterrey 3-1 in the second leg of their Concacaf Champions Cup semifinal tie. With the victory, Columbus advances to the championship game.

Jacen Russell-Rowe's goal in the final minutes of the match proved to be the difference. The Crew will now face either Seattle Sounders FC or CD Olimpia in the final on April 27th.

The Crew are the second MLS team to reach the CONCACAF Champions Cup final. The New England Revolution were the first, losing to Mexico's Pachuca in 2007.
