The highly anticipated film adaptation of the Broadway musical Wicked is slowly revealing its secrets. Director John M. Chu has shared a glimpse of actress Cynthia Erivo transformed into the iconic character of Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West.
The image, posted on social media, shows Erivo in full costume and makeup, her green skin and pointed ears instantly recognizable. The photo has excited fans who have been eagerly awaiting the film, which is set to be released in 2024.
Erivo is joined in the cast by Ariana Grande as Glinda, the Good Witch of the North. The film follows the two characters as they navigate their relationship prior to the events depicted in the Wizard of Oz.
