Former Vancouver Canucks Assistant General Manager Derek Clancey has announced his departure from the team.
Clancey, who was hired by then-President of Hockey Operations Jim Rutherford in December 2021, will join the Toronto Maple Leafs in a similar role. Rutherford, who was fired from his position with the Canucks in December 2022, is now the Senior Advisor to Maple Leafs General Manager Kyle Dubas.
Clancey's departure marks the latest in a string of changes for the Canucks organization. The team has also recently named their new assistant general manager, Emilie Castonguay, who will start her position on July 25th.
