White Sox Call Up RHP Nick Nastrini to Face Rangers

Another Debut for the White Sox

On Friday, the Chicago White Sox made a roster move, promoting the right-handed pitcher Nick Nastrini to the active roster ahead of their series opener against the Texas Rangers.

In order to make room for Nastrini on the active major league roster, the White Sox optioned fellow right-hander Davis Martin to Triple-A Charlotte.

Nastrini, 25, began the season with Triple-A Charlotte. In 13 starts for the Knights, he pitched to a 3.73 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, and struck out 53 batters in 68.1 innings of work.

Nastrini's Debut

Nastrini made his Major League debut on Friday against the Rangers.

He allowed two runs on four hits while striking out five batters in 3.1 innings of work.

He was optioned back to Charlotte following the game.
